I want classic, understated, but stylish clothes that fit perfectly,...Paul makes them for me. Often when someone looks stunning it is simply because what they are wearing actually fits properly and suits their body shape. It has very little to do with what is or is not “in fashion”.

After having some beautiful suits and dresses made in Thailand in the early 90s came across Paul in my search to get tailor made clothing in London.
I have been working with Paul for approximately 15 years now and he just gets better and better.
He was not the only person I have used, but now I use him exclusively.
We now know exactly what works for me in terms of cut and shape but each piece is unique.
I am not a standard size ( is anyone ??), and have a very small waist compared to my hips and the hour glass clothes that I love just don’t exist in the shops.
The first jacket and suits that he made for me fitted perfectly and are still favourites today.
Paul takes an enormous amount of trouble to make sure the toile is perfect. Sometimes this has been right first time but sometimes it has taken 10 or 12 cuts to get exactly what I am looking for.
This gives me the confidence to buy top quality fabrics (Loro Piana, Zegna, Armani) knowing that he will not cut it until it is absolutely right.
A lot of the pieces on the site are living in my wardrobe.... personal favourites are the strappy summer dress and the check suit.

What A Treasure Paul Hawley has made several outfits for me, and all I can say is ‘What a treasure!’ Paul has the rare ability to interpret and execute a design perfectly. Thanks So Much Thanks so much, Paul! I don't know how you managed to make such an incredible dress in so little time -- nothing short of genius. I have a wardrobe full of little black dresses that I wear for various shows and gigs, and I have NEVER got so many compliments! |

...everyone was literally floored by the dress...I Really Love It Just wanted to send you a couple of photo's from the wedding. I had such a fab time and everyone was literally floored by the dress. They had never seen anything like it and I had some lovely comments.

From the first appointment Paul made me feel comfortable and confident that he could create the dress that I wanted. Paul understood what I wanted so well and so quickly that the first toile he made was 99% the final dress I wanted. Paul explained the different options for achieving the dress I wanted (boning, linings, different neck and backlines) so I could make choices, advised me on where to get fabric and offered to source the fabric for me. I wanted a dress that...would fit me and my rather more curvaceous body well! I chose to work with you because I was uncomfortable with traditional/conventional wedding dress makers. I'm not a skinny young woman who wants to wear a giant white meringue!

You were warm, friendly and helpful and made me feel relaxed. You made a lovely dress for me which fitted beautifully and looked great on the day (and is something I can wear again and again)! You were also reasonably priced rather than charging a fortune just because it was a wedding dress.

There is just no comparison between wearing what I can find in a shop and clothes that have been specially tailored to fit not only my shape but also my requirements. I can have a skirt exactly the length that I want it. I can choose sleeves and a flattering neckline. Above all I can rely on your advice to tell me the best way to achieve the look I want. |
